Brandon McManus’ missed PAT attempt against Dallas in Week 4 opened the scoring window for the Cowboys. Hours later, the game ended in a 40-40 overtime tie.

“It’s hard to find the word for it,” McManus said. “Just a weird game; weird game for sure.”

Was the tie satisfying or deflating?

”I wouldn’t say it’s satisfying, but it’s not a loss. It’s not a tick in the loss column,” he said. “Who knows down the road when we’re at the end if it helps us or hurts us? It was an interesting game, all in all, from the start to the end.”

So, what happened on the block?

”My vantage point, I’m looking down at the ball to kick it,” McManus said. “Points are a premium in this league, and anytime I go out on the field, I expect to make it. It sucks it happened again.”

McManus said the team needs to play better situational football.

“There’s obviously ebbs and flows in the game. If things aren’t going your way, you have to try to put your foot down and stop it,” he said. “Sometimes when you don’t, it leads into multiple possessions like almost at the end of the half.

“We had it controlled most of the first half, and that’s how it ended. These guys have played a lot of football. I said last week, just continue to work on these situations and figure out a way to win games.”

If the Packers don’t get a win, McManus said he wants to help ensure it’s at least a tie game.

“When you’re in the preseason, now there’s no overtime in preseason, but that’s always the one that’s interesting: Do you make it or miss because the starters and stuff don’t want to go to overtime?” he said. “Like I said — weird, weird game.”
