Shawano/Bonduel shut out Team SEaL 4-0 on Nov. 28 at Park Falls Recreation Arena.
The hockey co-op team of Chequamegon, Phillips and Butternut played the Hawks to a scoreless first period before Shawano/Bonduel started to find the net.
Bonduel High School senior defenseman Gavin Hundt had a hat trick for Shawano/Bonduel, scoring once in the second period and twice more in the third. Assisting Hundt on his final two goals were Cameron Schroeder, Kielian Armbruster and Jeremy Helmuth.
Shawano Community High School sophomore forward Blake Swedberg scored the fourth and final goal in the third, with an assist from Hundt.
Shawano/Bonduel had 31 shots on goal compared to Team SEaL’s 16.
Shawano Community High School junior Tyson Lyons played the entire game, stopping all 16 shots on goal.
Phillips sophomore goalie Nick Pesko made 27 saves against 31 attempts and allowed four goals.
Both teams were called for seven penalties. The Hawks served 14 minutes, and Team SEaL served 17 minutes.
Friday, Nov. 28
Waunakee 6, Bay Area 3
The Bay Area Storm lost 6-3 to the Waunakee Warriors at the University School of Milwaukee Invite in River Hills.
Bay Area is a co-op team with players from Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, Pulaski, Seymour and Wrightstown.
Waunakee jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the Storm tied it up at 2-2. Jack Froelich scored for Bay Area with assists from Pulaski High School senior Braden Becks and Tyler Wempe. Connor Viau scored the team’s second goal with help from Grant Forgette and Ian Justman. Waunakee scored again to take a 3-2 lead after the first period.
Becks scored at 14:44 in the second period with a Carter Janowski assist to tie the game at 3-3 at the end of two periods.
Waunakee scored three times in the final period to get the win.
The Warriors outshot the Storm 35-24.
Weston Meyer had 21 saves for the Storm, and Landon Mason had 29 for the Warriors.
Bay Area was penalized six times for 12 minutes, while Waunakee was called for five infractions for 10 minutes.
Bay Area was scheduled to play the Fond du Lac Cardinals on Nov. 29, but no results were made available.
