David L. Gerndt

David L. Gerndt, 81, of Suring, passed away Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, with his wife by his side.

Dave was born Feb. 3, 1944, to the late Leslie Gerndt and Helen (Lemke Gerndt) Trever. Dave married Mary Williamsen on Aug. 26, 1978, in Kaukauna, after meeting at Nu-Line Industries.

The couple farmed together with family until the early 2000s. Dave then worked at KI Manufacturing in Bonduel as a foreman until retirement.

He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and playing cards. Dave is a member of Maple Valley Community Church where he held a position on the church board.

Dave is survived by his wife, Mary; three children, Lesliegh Ann Marx, Brian (Wendy) Gerndt and Nicole (Ryan) Owens; son-in-law, Jeff (Terri) Simon; 11 grandchildren, Greg Marx, Shauna Marx, Katie Wolfinger, Megan (Kyle) Mezera, Nathen (Margaret) Gerndt, Natalie LeClair, Jaxen Gerndt, Richard LeClair, Finley Owens, Nic (Bella) Simon and Ian Simon; two great-grandchildren, Otto and Elijah; siblings, Jean (Curt) Suring, Jill (Jerry) Wendt, Judy Johnson and Jane (Doug) Gilson; brothers-in-law, Dave (Debbie) Williamsen and John (Lorna) Williamsen. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Helen; stepfather, Donald Trever; daughter, Trisha Simon; brother, Dale Gerndt; in-laws, Gerald and Helen Williamsen; sister-in-law, Sandy Williamsen; brother-in-law, Irv Johnson.

Visitation will be held at Maple Valley Community Church on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Andrew Jantz officiating. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family would like to thank all of the family members, friends and caregivers who helped Dave during his time of need.
