Fifteen years ago, a few forward-thinking community members imagined a better future for people who bicycle and walk in Shawano County.
After a series of public information sessions sparked local interest, Shawano Pathways was born. Today, the organization is celebrating its 15th anniversary — a milestone made possible through years of dedication, collaboration and community spirit.
To mark the occasion, Shawano Pathways invites the public to a special anniversary social and community report Nov. 11 at Twig’s Museum and Gift Shop, 920 S. Franklin St., Shawano.
The event begins with a social hour at 5 p.m., featuring soda tasting, snacks and a cash bar, followed by a light supper and ice cream sundae bar.
The evening’s program will include recognition of Shawano Pathways’ key founders, a look back at the organization’s top accomplishments from the past 15 years, highlights from 2025 and announcements for 2026.
Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is appreciated for planning purposes at shawanopathways.org/events.
Shawano Pathways is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development, implementation and maintenance of a greenway and trails network within Shawano County and adjacent areas. The organization works to promote recreational and alternative transportation opportunities while preserving the natural resources connected with the trails.
