Hundt collects hat trick against Avalanche

Antigo 4, Oshkosh 3

The Red Robins fought back from a 2-0 deficit to take the lead and eventually defeat Oshkosh 4-3.

Alex Brittenham scored at 10:09 in the second period with help from Liam Burt and Shepard Snider to bring Antigo within a goal 2-1. Brittenham tied the game at 2-2 at 11:59 with Parker Chaney and Ethan Novy assisting.

The Red Robins took over the lead 3-2 at 8:38 in the third period on a goal by Billy Portman and Brittenham assist. The Ice Hawks tied the game at 3-3, but another Brittenham goal at 16:39 captured the win for the Red Robins. Carson Rhode and Novy assisted on the winning goal.

Antigo was penalize three times for six minutes. Oshkosh was penalized five times for 18 minutes, including a 10-minute misconduct penalty.

Red Robins goalie Austin Martinson recorded 30 saves, and Ice Hawks goalie Chase Magadanz had 27.

De Pere 4, Bay Area 1

De Pere held a 3-0 lead after two periods and would go on to beat Bay Area 4-1.

Bay Area’s goal came at 15:43 in the third period on a score by Tyler Wempe with assists from Aiden Buchan and Henry Laurent.

Storm goalie Justin Pintar collected 27 saves. Voyageurs goalie Chase VandEven had 33.

There were four penalties for eight minutes against the Storm, while the Voyageurs had five penalties for 10 minutes.

Aquinas/Holmen 6, Shawano/Bonduel 3

An avalanche of four goals in the second period was enough for Aquinas/Holmen as they defeated Shawano/Bonduel 6-3.

Gavin Hundt gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal at 3:50 in the first period.

Less than a minute into the second period, the game was tied 1-1. The Hawks went up 2-1 at 6:29 as Hundt scored his second unassisted goal.

Aquinas/Holmen responded with two more goals to take the lead 3-2. Hundt tied the game again with his third unassisted goal at 10:01. The Avalanche took the lead 4-3 as the second period ended.

Two more goals by Aquinas/Holmen in the third period sealed the win.

The Hawks were called for two penalties for four minutes, while the Avalanche had four penalties for eight minutes.

Avalanche goalie Liam Collins recorded 13 saves. Shawano/Bonduel goalie Tyson Lyons had 35.

Friday, Jan. 23

Shawano/Bonduel 2, Virocqua 1

Shawano’s hockey team made the trip to Virocqua despite the cold and returned home with a 2-1 win.

Trailing 1-0 after one period, Cameron Schroeder tied the game at 3:20 in the second period with Gavin Hundt assisting.

Hundt scored the wining goal at 3:02 in the third period with Michael Dillenburg and Blake Swedberg assisting.

The Hawks weren’t penalized in the game, and Virocqua was only called once for two minutes.

Blackhawks goalie Braxton Marx recorded 25 saves, while Hawks goalie Tyson Lyons had 33.
