Hillside Assembly will sponsor its free 30th annual wild game banquet Jan. 24 at Oconto Falls High School, 210 N. Farm Road, Oconto Falls.
Participants are invited to bring their favorite dish to the potluck dinner at 5:30 p.m., with the featured seminar speaker, Carl Parks from Fishers Of Men, talking at 6:30 p.m. One low level raffle ticket will be given for each wild game dish brought.
The doors open at 4 p.m. The gym will have a display of replicas of white tail deer. This year, a two-trailer display will be featured.
Again this year is a free drawing for a disabled American veteran. Last year, a prize was a buck hunt at Butler Rock Ranch.
There will be a youth Nerf gun range from 4-5:30 p.m.
Parks is the director/chaplain of the Fishers of Men National Bass Tournament Trail in Illinois. He is also a ministry partner with Trophies of Grace Central Division. He is an avid bass fisherman and whitetail bow hunter with BuckVentures and The Woodsmen. He and his wife, Heather, have been married for 29 years and have two children. When not fishing or hunting, Parks is an 811 on-call enforcement investigator.
Donation raffle prizes will be available again this year. High level prizes include a Browning III .308 AB3 Micro STKR, Savage 334 6.5 Creedmoor walnut, Smith and Wesson .45 11520 semi-auto, Thompson Center Ventura II .300 and Ten Point Commander crossbow.
Low level prizes include Ruger 3816 9mm black, half a hog From Meatski’s in Pound, 7.5-inch K-Drill auger with Milwaukee M18 drill, two camera Tactacam sets, two doe hunts at Butler Rock Ranch, 28-inch Blackstone grill and a women’s Stock Market gift basket.
Participants are invited to bring in any buck, bear or bull for scoring, as well as a canned good for the local food pantry.
