Wittenberg-Birnamwood 89, Weyauwega-Fremont 32
Wittenberg-Birnamwood senior Melaina Granquist pulled down eight rebounds, including the 1,000th of her career, as the Chargers crushed Weyauwega-Fremont 89-32 in a CWC-East game.
Granquist led her team in rebounds as well as points with 28. She also had one block and two steals.
“We started off a little slow offensively, but our defensive pressure was electric tonight,” coach Nick Mechelke said. “It really got our offense going.”
Rory Salvesen scored 23 points, and Harper Rogowski scored 21, as Wittenberg-Birnamwood improved to 9-0 in league play and 16-0 overall.
Ava Brei collected four rebounds, a steal and four assists. Brie Ladika garnered four rebounds and two steals.
Rogowski led the team with five assists, and Nora Bushman also had four.
Oconto Falls 58, Marinette 50
The Panthers upset the Marines 58-50 in a North Eastern Conference matchup.
Leading 26-11 at halftime, Oconto Falls saw its huge lead slip away halfway through the second half. With just a few minutes left to play, the Panthers surged while Marinette fell flat, which gave the win to Oconto Falls.
Oconto Falls improved to 2-6 in the NEC and 5-11 overall. Marinette dropped to 5-5 in the NEC and 11-6 overall.
Bonduel 54, Menominee Nation 45
Bonduel sophomore Peyton Westrich was all over the leaderboard in the Bears’ 54-45 win over the Eagles.
She led Bonduel in points with 15, tied with Juliana Jacobs for the most rebounds at six, led with four steals and contributed two assists.
Cierra Schnell scored 12 points, and Jayla Reinke added eight.
Allison Zerknicke pulled down five rebounds, and she and Jacobs each had two steals.
Schnell led her team with three assists, and Jacobs had two.
Bonduel improved to 16-2, while Menominee Nation fell to 12-6.
Shawano 57, Winneconne 56
Shawano improved to 5-5 in the Bay Conference with a 57-56 upset win over Winneconne, which fell to 9-2.
The Hawks are 11-6 overall, and the Wolves are 14-4.
