Verna Irene Weisnicht, 88, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in Shawano.

Verna was born on Oct. 11, 1935, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, daughter of the late Oscar and Eleanor (Brutlag) Schultz. On Sept. 15, 1951, she was united in marriage to Melvin Weisnicht in Shawano. The couple spent 68 years together before Melvin’s passing in November 2019.

Yvonne Kirchenwitz, 88, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Yvonne was born in the Town of Morgan, Oconto County, on Sept. 4, 1935, daughter of the late Lebrecht and Grace (Pellow) Olderman. Yvonne grew up in the Gillett area and graduated from Gillett High School with the class of 1953.

George S. Nelson Jr.

George S. Nelson Jr., 93, of Kelly Lake, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

George was born on Feb. 21, 1931, to the late George Sr. and Kathleen (Kispert) Nelson in Kenosha. He was a loving husband, brother and uncle. George enlisted in the Army in May 1951 and spent two years stationed in Alaska. After returning from the Army in April 1953, he moved to Brookfield, Illinois, where he was employed in the construction business. In 1954, George married Shirley Hurt in Riverside, Illinois. George was a member of the Suring American Legion Post 283.

Lloyd “Lee” Anthony Ebert, age 82, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2024, in Shawano.

He was born on Jan. 2, 1942, to the late Lloyd and Rosella (White) Ebert in Green Bay, and grew up in Briarton, Wisconsin. Lee attended Bonduel High School and St. Norbert College. He was united in marriage to Karen A. Kraemer on Sept. 14, 1963, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Green Bay.

Jennifer L. Onesti, 40, of Shawano, formerly of Mattoon, passed away after a six-year battle with Alzheimer’s, at Azura Memory Care, Manitowoc, under the care of Heartland Hospice.

Jennifer was born on July 14, 1983, in Wausau, the daughter of Allen and Lisa (Long) Onesti.

David Carl Vander Koy, 83, of Elderon, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

David was born Nov. 24, 1940, to John and Eleanor (Sinski) Vander Koy. He married the love of his life, Marelia Narloch, on June 11, 1966, at St. Florian’s Church in Hatley.
