Vicki Lou Marquardt

Vicki Lou Marquardt, 62, of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, following a short battle with brain cancer. Vicki was born Oct. 16, 1957, in Shawano, to the late Fred and Lenora (Laude) Krueger.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, the outdoors, fishing and asparagus and mushroom picking with her sisters, and she loved her dog companions. Vicki had a very generous soul, always looking out for the needs of others and helping them wherever she could. She will be dearly missed by all.

Gerald L. Qualheim

Gerald L. Qualheim, 86, of Shawano, passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 24, 2019, at Shawano Health Services following a two-month illness.

Jerry was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Stanley, a son of the late Albert and Ruth (Edwardson) Qualheim. He attended school in Jump River and later went to Hannibal High School, graduating in 1950. Jerry served in the United States Army from 1951 until 1954, where he was stationed in Alaska. Jerry met his future wife at a dance in Hannibal. On Oct. 22, 1955, he married the former June Brassard at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman.

Robert B. Miller

Robert B. “Bob” Miller, 89, of Gresham, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019, in Shawano. Robert was born Oct. 19, 1929, in Gresham, to the late Edith Miller.

Following high school, Bob joined the United States Air Force where he served during the Korean conflict. On June 13, 1959, Bob married Yvonne Ringel at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Hermansfort, in Shawano County.

Mark W. Meyer

Mark William Meyer, 48, of Weyauwega, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019, due to a medical condition. Mark was born April 14, 1971, in Appleton, son of Scott and Sheila (Buelow) Meyer. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, including the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. Mark loved playing cribbage and video games.

Cecelia C. VandenLangenberg

Cecelia C. VandenLangenberg, 94, of Howard, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019. She was born the 10th of 11 children on Feb. 2, 1925, to the late Charles and Margaret (Kustka) Froelich.

Ceil attended St. Francis Xavier High School and then transferred to St. Joseph Academy, graduating in 1943. She graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1946, and for many years Ceil and her classmates attended monthly lunches together.

Joseph ‘Joe’ Gwidt

Joseph “Joe” Gwidt, 87, of Tigerton, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at New Perspective Senior Living, Green Bay.

He was born Aug. 22, 1932, in Wausau to Joseph and Bernice (Galecke) Gwidt. Joe was a graduate of Wausau East and received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1954 where he continued as an active member of the Wisconsin Pharmacy Association, Pharmacy Board of Visitors, Bascom Hill Society, and proudly supported scholarships for UW pharmacy students.

David and Dorothy Ashenbrenner

Services will be Oct. 24-25 for David and Dorothy Ashenbrenner, of Galloway, who died as a result of a motor vehicle collision on Oct. 14, 2019.

This loving, generous, hard-working couple leaves behind family and friends devastated by the sudden loss of dedicated grandparents and leaders of their church and community.

James Motiff

James “Mo” Motiff, 70, Oconto Falls, died Sunday morning, Oct. 13, 2019, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 1, 1949, in Green Bay to Albert and Valeria (Kutska) Motiff. Mo grew up in the Duck Creek area and graduated from Bay Port High School. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Jeanette L. Klose

Jeanette “Babe” L. Klose, 55, of Breed, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019. Babe was born in Shawano to Louie and Jeanette (Boyd) Bruette on Jan. 6, 1964, the youngest of four daughters.

Ruth V. Koenig

Ruth V. Koenig, 90, Shawano, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Oct. 14, 2019. Ruth was born on Oct. 1, 1929, in Gillett, to the late Julius “Gus” and Paulina (Desterhaft) Reichwald. She graduated from Gillett High School.

On May 5, 1951, Ruth was united in marriage to Clinton Koenig in Gillett. She worked for Hales Corners State Bank for many years. Ruth and Clinton moved to the Shawano area after their retirement. Clinton preceded Ruth in death on July 27, 2010, after 59 years of marriage.
