Donald J. Janigo, 83, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, surrounded by his family in his beautiful rustic home in Hatley.

Don was born in Ashland on June 9, 1936, the son of the late John and Ann Janigo.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eileen; sons, Jonathon, of Madison, and Don Jr. (Kristy), of Maple Grove, Minnesota; sister, Louise Dunlap, of Ashland; nephew, Bruce Dunlap, of Michigan; cousins and special in-laws in Ashland and Mosinee.

Pamela “Pam” Sue Creydt, 61, of Altoona, died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at Marshfield Clinic Health System-Eau Claire Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Pam was born July 18, 1958, in Wausau to Milton and Suzanne (Uttecht) Schmidt. She was a 1976 graduate of Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School and attended McConnell Travel School in Minneapolis. In her early years of employment, Pam worked in management in the hospitality industry for Carlson Companies.

Jeanne Grace (Moede) Ahlborg, 88, Oconto Falls, passed away ever so peacefully surrounded by family on Jan. 17, 2020. Jeanne was born May 8, 1931, in Eland and she was the daughter of Eldor and Myrtle (James) Moede. After graduating from OFHS in 1949, Jeanne followed her parent’s vocation and became a teacher, teaching in Oconto County rural schools.

Samuel Kootaka, 77, of Suring, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, at The Bay at Suring Nursing Home. Sam was born March 17, 1942, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to the late Samuel and Martha (Simeona) Takata. He grew up in the Hilo area of the Big Island of Hawaii. Sam graduated from Hilo High School. In 1962, Sam became a Merchant Marine working as a fireman-water tender aboard the U.S.N.S. Longview, which was mapping islands in the Pacific Ocean. Sam also served his country in the United States Army for two years as a medical corpsman stationed at a clinic in Thailand.
