The angels came for George on March 28, 2020, at Unity Hospice Facility. He was born on May 31, 1934, to Caroline (Beckman) Stoffer and Rudolph H. Stoffer in Norfolk, Nebraska. He attended schools in Norfolk and graduated from Norfolk Senior High in 1953.

Donald H. Pahlow, 73, of Shawano, passed away at home on Monday, March 30, 2020, with his loving wife by his side. Donald was born in Shawano, on Jan. 10, 1947, to the late Hugo and Lucille (Redmann) Pahlow. He attended St. James Lutheran Grade School and Shawano High School for three years before his family moved to Menomonee Falls, where he graduated from Menomonee Falls High School in 1965.

Marion Johanna (Holtz) Schrank, 90, died Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Stonecrest, Wausau. Marion was born in the town of Norrie, Marathon County, the daughter of the late Carl Frederick and Clara Josephine (Erickson) Holtz and also lived in Shawano, Stevens Point and Wittenberg.

Marion is survived by her daughters Pamela (Robert) Bogacz, Sherry (Chuck B), Debbie (Paul) Gustafson and Candy (Chuck G); two grandchildren, Courtney and Katrina; brother Carl Holtz; and many nieces and nephews.

Dolores Zblewski, 85, of Birnamwood, formerly of Hatley, died Thursday, March 26, 2020, at Cloverleaf Terrace, Birnamwood, under the care of LeRoyer Hospice.

She was born Dec. 7, 1934, in Shantytown, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Sikorski) Kurszewski.

On Oct. 13, 1952, Dolores was united in marriage to Roman Zblewski at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 2016.

Charles “Chuck” Victor Arthur, 70, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, March 27, 2020. He was born Sept. 23, 1949, the son of Victor and Mary (Boerschinger) Arthur. Chuck graduated from Preble High School. He was employed as a machinist for many years. On Feb. 19, 1972, he married Donna Martzke. They had celebrated 42 years of marriage when she preceded him in death on Nov. 10, 2014.

Eugene Allen Wendt

Eugene A. Wendt, 74, of Bowler, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2020. Eugene was born in Green Valley on Oct. 7, 1945, son of the late Edward and Marie (Pockot) Wendt. Following high school, Eugene served his country in the United States military.

On April 23, 1966, Eugene was united in marriage to Mary Schmidt in Pulcifer. The couple made their home and raised their family in the Hoffa Park area. Mary preceded Eugene in death on May 13, 2009.

Mary Jane (Cady) Makholm, 101, formerly of Gillett, died Friday, March 20, 2020, while wintering in Panama City Beach, Florida, with her daughter and son-in-law. Jane Cady was born July 19, 1918, in Chicago. Jane spent her childhood growing up in Chicago with her mother, grandmother and uncle. She was a successful student and on the swim team at Sullivan High School in Chicago. Jane worked for Kemper Insurance where she became a supervisor.
