Julia M. Steber

Julia M. Steber, 87, of Clintonville, passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Julia was born on Feb. 20, 1933, to the late Hubert and Vera (Clark) Granger. She was united in marriage to Lee Demaskie, who preceded her in death in 1961. Julia later married Clayton Steber, who preceded her in death in 1987.

Julia enjoyed being outside in her garden, embroidering, and decorating for the holidays, Christmas was her favorite. She loved cooking big meals and feeding her family and friends. Julia loved her family dearly, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Thomas E. “Tom” Litzow, 80, of Shawano, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 15, 2020, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano.

Tom was born Dec. 22, 1939, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Dr. John and Florence (Wabiszewski) Litzow. He grew up in Stevens Point and, following high school graduation, attended Northwestern University. In 1961, Tom earned his Bachelor of Science in economics. He went on to earn his MBA from the Kellogg School of Business in 1964.

Agnes E. Buchert

Agnes E. Buchert, 99, of Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 14, 2020, at home with her family by her side.

Agnes was born on Jan. 31, 1921, in the town of Belle Plaine, to the late August and Emma (Brandt) Schmidt. She attended the River Bank School in Embarrass through grade school. She went on to help out on the family farm. From there, Agnes was the primary caregiver for her sister’s son, Alvin. After Alvin passed away, Agnes worked as a seamstress. Later, she worked as a sales associate at Lauerman’s Department Store.

Judith E. Kline

Judith Eileen (Mann) Kline, 72, Cecil, passed away faithfully due to heart disease complications on Saturday, April 11, 2020.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Private family burial was at Forest Hill Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is assisting the family.

Mona A. Urban

Mona A. Urban, 87, of Shawano, was called home to her savior on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Mona was born on May 16, 1932, in Advance, to the late Carl and Effie (Bergner) Druckrey. She attended Shawano High School and graduated with the Class of 1950.

On Sept. 23, 1953, Mona was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Urban at St. James Church Chapel. She was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church. For many years, Mona worked for “her veterans” in the Shawano County Veteran Service Office. She loved her work and was dedicated to those who served our country.

Wayne R. Hetzer

Wayne R. Hetzer, 92, of the town of Red Springs, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Wayne was born on May 4, 1927, in Milwaukee, to the late Charles and Clara (Jaunke) Hetzer. Wayne enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country during World War II. He was born and raised in Milwaukee and later moved to Antigo.

Robert Michael ‘Bobby’ Marohl

Robert “Bobby” Marohl, 64, of Cecil, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020. Bobby was born in Shawano on May 16, 1955, son of the late Adolph “Rainbow” and Joyce (Watry) Marohl. Bobby attended Bonduel schools. He was a logger and logging machine operator by trade but also formerly owned and operated the Elbow Room and the Wishy Washy Laundromat in Cecil. He was married to Cheryl “Sherry” Hoffman in Las Vegas in March 2002.

Edward C. Matz

Edward C. Matz Sr., 99, of Birnamwood, died Saturday, April 11, 2020, at Cloverleaf Terrace, Birnamwood, with his family by his side.

He was born July 25, 1920, in Birnamwood, the son of Frank and Alma (Giese) Matz.

Ed was a United States Army veteran who served during World War II. He was a member of the Darling Gunderson Post #341 American Legion Birnamwood and served as past commander.

On June 18, 1949, Ed was united in marriage to Marion Kaufmann at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Birnamwood. She preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 2018.

Paul J. Wasmund

Paul J. Wasmund, 61, of Suring, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020. Paul was born May 11, 1958, to Odile (Lanser) and the late Robert Wasmund in Milwaukee. He graduated from Suring High School with the Class of 1977. Paul was a master plumber for many years. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and walking his dog, Max. Every year, Paul looked forward to camping with friends during Memorial Day weekend.

Joyce A. Pingel, 92, of Clintonville, passed away April 10, 2020, at Greentree Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clintonville.

The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home and Crematory in Clintonville is assisting the Pingel family.
