Shawano County’s 410th barn quilt now on display

Earlier this fall, the 410th barn quilt was added to the Shawano County barn quilt trail, the largest trail of 8-foot by 8-foot barn quilts in the U. S. The 410th barn quilt, called Mariners Compass, is on display on a “barndominium” owned by Dave and Laurie Heideman at N2999 Grass Lake Road in Shawano.

The Heidemans sponsored the quilt and also painted it. It was put on display by LeRoy Raddant of Raddant Electric in Shawano, with Dave Heideman’s assistance.

Shawano County adds 409th barn quilt

Earlier this year, the 409th barn quilt was added to the Shawano County barn quilt trail, the largest trail of 8-foot by 8-foot barn quilts in the United States.

The quilt, named Bridge Over Quiet Waters, is on display at Iron Bridge Farm, N3776 County Road C, near Pulaski, and is owned by Eugene and Lucille Przybylski.

It was sponsored by their children, Brian, Bruce, Brent and Brenda, and their spouses, Tina Przybylski and Jeff Tebon, and grandchildren, Dylan, Dawson and Madysen Przybylski and Chloe and Carter Tebon.

Farmland rental workshops provided

NWTC partners to drive energy efficiency and support Wisconsin manufacturers

In a shared effort to strengthen small and mid-sized manufacturing businesses in Wisconsin, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) has partnered with Southwest Wisconsin Technical College (SWTC) on a $3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

The grant aims to reduce energy costs, introduce innovative technologies and bolster workforce training to ensure Wisconsin manufacturers remain competitive and resilient.

Ground broken for new Bonduel housing project

Ground was broken in November for a new single-family housing development in Bonduel.

This project marks a significant milestone for the village, as it represents the first substantial single-family home development in more than two decades. The development will include seven homes, offering a variety of floor plans and sizes to meet the needs of different families. The project will complete the Sunrise Court subdivision.

Black Diamond Builders, a construction company based in Green Bay, brings expertise in residential construction to this project.

Feemster bound over in homicide trial

Jordan Feemster will be bound over for trial after Shawano-Menominee County Circuit Court Judge William Kussel Jr. ruled there was probable cause during a preliminary hearing Nov. 27 addressing charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, battery, criminal damage to property and first-degree recklessly endangering safety by the use of a dangerous weapon.

Church events offer support for those grieving during the holidays

The holiday season, often filled with joy and celebration, can be a challenging time for those grieving a loss or navigating personal hardships such as job transitions, relationship changes or other life struggles. To offer comfort and support during this difficult time, a Blue Christmas Service and Navigating the Holidays After Loss support group will be held Dec. 15 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1254 S. Union St., Shawano.

• Mendell Stokes, 51, Kaukauna, pleaded no contest Nov. 25 to felony bail jumping and a misdemeanor charge of operating while revoked. Judge William Kussel Jr. levied fines and sentenced him to 120 days in county jail.

• Matthew E. Kaercher, 33, Green Bay, pleaded no contest Nov. 27 to three counts of felony bail jumping and a misdemeanor charge of operating while revoked. Judge Katherine Sloma levied fines and sentenced him to 120 days in county jail.
