Ninham finishes 31st at state golf meet

Pulaski’s Vivien Ninham tied for 31st place at the WIAA State Girls Division 1 golf meet at University Ridge Golf Course in Verona on Oct. 9-10.

After the first day, she was tied for 24th place with an 85, 13 above par. Ninham shot the same 85 on the second day, giving her a total score of 170, 26 above par.

Izzi Stricker, of Waunakee, was the champion. She carded a 71 and 73 for a total of 144, par on the course.

Pulaski schools seek injunction over online video

The Pulaski School District is scheduled to be in Brown County Circuit Court on Oct. 13, seeking a permanent injunction against an Appleton man who posted what it describes as threatening videos intended to harass or intimidate a staff member, the district and its board of education.

Court Commissioner Phoebe Mix granted a temporary restraining order against Jose “Rocky” Rodriguez on Sept. 29 after the district filed a petition and three affidavits alleging safety concerns.

Pulaski’s Ninham advances to state golf meet

Pulaski’s Vivien Ninham placed third in sectional action and qualified for the state golf meet.

Ninham, a senior, shot a 77, just five strokes off the top golfer at the WIAA Division 1 sectional at High Cliff Golf Course in Sherwood on Oct. 2.

Teammate Ella Ficarri tied for 27th with a 91.

Shawano, as team, shot a 389 and finished in last place out of eight teams.

Pulaski volleyball team goes winless at Spartan Invitational

Entering the weekend with a 7-18 overall record, the Pulaski volleyball team would love to string some wins together as the regular season is coming to an end and postseason play is on the horizon. What better way to string some wins together than by participating in the Spartan Invitational at Oshkosh North as this was a golden opportunity for Pulaski to gain some confidence these final few weeks.

Polkowski named boys basketball coach at Pulaski

A coach familiar with the Fox River Classic Conference, John Polkowski, is the new Pulaski High School boys basketball coach.

The Red Raiders’ new coach was the head boys varsity coach at Green Bay Southwest for 10 years, leaving that position in April. He also served as freshman coach at West De Pere High School for one season. He received the 2019 Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Achievement Award when his Southwest squad racked up a 22-3 season, winning the FRCC title and advancing to the sectional finals before bowing out to a strong Kaukauna team.

Pulaski blanks Shawano with a pair of second-half goals

In a game that featured two teams going in different directions, the Shawano Hawks traveled to Pulaski to take on the Red Raiders in non-conference soccer action Sept. 16. Even with the Hawks playing shorthanded and missing five starters, they continue to give it their all for 80 minutes and put forth some strong efforts.

23 agencies respond to Pulaski fire

A Sept. 14 fire that destroyed two businesses in downtown Pulaski illustrated the value of mutual aid agreements among fire departments across northeast Wisconsin.

The blaze, which broke out around 3:30 p.m., destroyed the structure at 114 and 118 W. Pulaski St., a building that housed LaCount Auctions LLC and A Kut Above Salon.

Cruisers Yachts, manufacturer of luxury yachts, has partnered with Alliance Construction on a 56,000-square-foot expansion to its Pulaski facility with a completion date of January 2024.

Pulaski girls golf team claims fourth at FRCC Conference Meet

Looking to put on a strong showing, the Pulaski Red Raiders had a great day on the course Sept. 8 as they finished off their day with a fourth-place finish and a team score of 187, one stroke ahead of De Pere.

What stood out the most was how close a lot of these teams were as the Red Raiders were just three shots out of third place and four strokes away from second. Bay Port has been the class of the conference all season long, and that continued with their 17-stroke win. Their score of 166 took home first place from the meet held at Seymour’s Crystal Springs Golf Course.

Hortonville shuts out Pulaski to open 2023 soccer season

The Pulaski Red Raiders soccer team opened their season by hitting the road to take on the Hortonville Polar Bears on Aug. 22.

Despite a great effort across the board, offense was at a premium in this game. The Polar Bears found a way to score just one goal and made that hold up as Pulaski lost 1-0.
