HATLEY — When you own a few acres of meadows and have a natural talent for growing plants, it’s not a huge leap to get in on Wisconsin’s new hemp industry.
Dave Fierek, of Hatley, made his way into the industry three years ago when Wisconsin law was changed to encourage hemp farming.
A 1997 graduate of Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School, Fierek had always been involved with FFA.
“I’ve always gardened,” said Fierek. “That’s what I’ve been passionate about.”
