Births: A son to Misty Hiller and Roy Johnson, of Hatley.

Sports: Chase Szutkowski was selected to participate in the 2009 Wisconsin Football Coaches Association all-star football game. He is only the fourth student in our school’s history to be recognized for this honor.

A dedication of the $45,000 addition to the Galloway School of the Wittenberg district will be held April 8. Lunch will be served following the program.

John Yaeger and Ted Schaar left yesterday for Fort Sheridan to enter military training.

Badger Theatre: “Dillinger” stars Laurence Tierney, Edmund Lowe and Anne Jeffreys.

The Wisconsin Power and Light Company has been granted permission by the state public service commission to construct a substation and 6 miles of transmission lines at Birnamwood. The project will cost $49,355.

William Rogalsky, builder of a fine, large hall in Shepley, will have his grand opening dance Saturday evening, April 2. He has engaged for this event Becker’s five-piece orchestra of Shawano. Price of tickets 90 cents, plus 10 cents war tax. All are welcome.

Concert April 7 at the Opera House in Wittenberg. Admission, 25 cents and 50 cents. Performing are Carsten Woll, tenor, and Esther Woll, pianist.
