Wrestlers from Witt-Birn, Bonduel, Lena qualify for state
Individual wrestlers from Bonduel, Lena and Wittenberg-Birnamwood all qualified for state after competing in the Division 3 Valders Sectional on Feb. 6.
To qualify for state, wrestlers had to place either first or second in their respective weight class.
Witt-Birn's David Gauderman (220-pound weight class) posted a perfect record on the day to take first and punch his ticket to state.
Bonduel's Tyson Bogacz (145) and Max Sokolski (152) each placed second to qualify for state. Lena's Dylan Comins (106) also placed second to earn a spot at state.
Coleman won the sectional title after accumulating 210.5 team points. Witt-Birn tallied 80 points to claim sixth. Bonduel was ninth with 56 points, while Lena finished 15th with 29 points.
Menominee Indian had two wrestlers competing, but neither qualified for state. The Eagles finished with 17 team points.
