Witt-Birn's Metropulos, Clintonville's Foth win 2 events each at conference girls swim meet

Wittenberg-Birnamwood's McKenna Metropulos and Clintonville's Brianna Foth each won a pair of individual events during the Bay Conference Championships on Thursday.

Shawano placed third in the conference, while Witt-Birn was fifth and Clintonville sixth.

The conference meet was unlike any before it, as it was split into two venues. Clintonville hosted Witt-Birn and Shawano, while Seymour hosted Marinette and New London to round out the conference.

The times for all the events were combined between the two meets.

Metropulos posted a time of 54.37 seconds to win the 100-yard freestyle. She claimed the top time of 25.03 seconds to win the 50 freestyle.

Foth was the conference's top finisher in the 200 freestyle (2:07.7) and 500 freestyle (5:43.84).

Witt-Birn's Annika Resch and Olyvia Stark claimed second and third in the 200 freestyle with times of 2:14.16 and 2:14.41, respectively. Stark placed third in the 100 backstroke (1:12.54).

Shawano's 200 medley relay team of Alli Brown, Gabi Bukoski, Anne Carrier and Allison Langlois came in third in 2:10.61.

Witt-Birn's 200 freestyle relay of Metropulos, Stark, Resch and Jessica Storlie came in third in 1:51.15.
