Witt-Birn girls swim team ties for 3rd at Bay Relays

The Wittenberg-Birnamwood girls swim team tied for third place during the Bay Conference Relays on Aug. 26 in Sturgeon Bay.

Witt-Birn earned 56 points to tie Seymour. Door County United was first with 96 points, with New London in second with 60 points.

The Chargers earned three first-place finishes on the night, winning the 200-yard medley, 300 backstroke (3x100) and 100 freestyle (4x25) relays.

Olyvia Stark, Isabella Hegewald, Faith Resch and Olivia Bessette formed the 200 medley relay, which posted a time of 2 minutes, 6.57 seconds.

Stark, Resch and Jessica Storlie made up the 300 backstroke relay, recording a time of 3:27.72.

Stark, Storlie, Kaylee Schram and Jalynn Horacek teamed up for first in the 100 freestyle relay with a mark of 55.47.

The Chargers’ 300 breaststroke (3x100) relay team of Hegewald, Horacek and Bessette took second in 4:12.03.

Shawano also competed in the event, placing sixth with 22 points.

The trio of Alli Brown, Gabi Bukoski and Allison Langlois teamed up for third in the 300 backstroke relay, finishing with a time of 3:39.07.

Bukoski, Langlois and Brown joined Anne Carrier on the third-place finishing 750 freestyle (400-200-100-50) relay. The quartet had a time of 9:09.35.
