STAA 66 (2 OT)

Lena outlasted St. Thomas Aquinas Academy in a Marinette & Oconto Conference double overtime thriller on Jan. 29 in Lena.

Max Beyer hit nine 3-pointers and scored 40 points to lead Lena to victory. The nine 3-pointers tied a school record.

Logan Shallow and Sidney Sylvester each chipped in seven points for the Wildcats.

The teams were tied at 50 at the end of regulation and then tied at 61 after the first overtime period.

Niagara 66

Gillett 56

Gillett fell short in a M&O clash against Niagara on Jan. 29 in Gillett.

Aydin Franti and Austin VandeCorput each tallied 17 points for Gillett.

Ben Matczak added nine points, while Brandon DeBauch tallied eight points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lena 43

Wausaukee 40

Lena edged Wausaukee in a M&O matchup on Jan. 29 in Lena.

Kennedy Marquardt tallied 15 points to lead Lena offensively. Claire Brooks added eight points, while Aspen Magee tallied seven points.

The Wildcats held on late after building a 20-14 lead at halftime.
