Carroll

Oconto Falls graduate Aaron Kurth earned nine points for the Carroll men’s track and field team at the North Central College Invitational on Feb. 8 in Naperville, Illinois.

Kurth posted a time of 7.04 seconds in the 60-meter dash preliminaries to qualify for the finals, where he took third in 7.01 seconds.

Kurth placed sixth in the 200 dash with a time of 23.07 seconds.

Fellow Oconto Falls graduate Sam Shallow played four minutes and pulled down a rebound in the Carroll women’s basketball team’s 70-30 win over Marian on Feb. 8. It marked the sixth time this season that Shallow has played in a game.

UW-Platteville

Oconto Falls graduate Catt Moeller turned in a third-place finish for the UW-Platteville women’s track and field team at the Red Hawk Invitational on Feb. 8 in Ripon.

Moeller cleared a height of 9 feet, 5.75 inches in the pole vault to tie for third and earn five points for her team.

The Platteville women took third place with 102 points.

Wyoming

Oconto Falls graduate and current Wyoming wrestler Dewey Krueger dropped a pair of tight decisions over the past week. Krueger was ranked 33rd in the 157-pound weight class of the most recent rankings at theopenmat.com.

Krueger dropped a 7-4 decision to Fresno State’s Jacob Wright in Wyoming’s 22-19 dual loss on Feb. 6. Wright was ranked 23rd.

Krueger suffered a 6-0 decision loss to Oklahoma State’s Wyatt Sheets during Wyoming’s 25-7 dual loss on Feb. 8. Sheets was ranked 16th.

Viterbo

Gillett graduate Lauren Herzog ran in two events for the Viterbo women’s track and field team at the Ted Nelson Classic on Feb. 8 in Mankato, Minnesota.

As an individual, Herzog placed 14th in the 1,000 with a time of 3:28.32.

Herzog was on the distance medley relay team that took third in 14:05.73. That finish earned Viterbo six points — the Viterbo women took 11th place with 17 points.

UW-Eau Claire

Suring graduate Mitch Stegeman competed in three events for the UW-Eau Claire men’s track and field team at the Big Dawg Invitational on Feb. 8 in Stevens Point.

Stegeman tied for seventh in the high jump after clearing 5-11.25.

The freshman came in 19th in the long jump (18-10.75) and 32nd in shot put (32-06.25).

Ripon

Suring graduate Ryan Mahoney played in two games for the Ripon men’s basketball team over the past week.

Mahoney played four minutes in the team’s 95-53 victory over Lawrence University on Feb. 8. Mahoney grabbed a rebound and dished out an assist in a minute of action in Ripon’s 83-62 win over Cornell College on Feb. 12.

UW-River Falls

Oconto Falls graduate Brent Wolf competed in four events for the UW-River Falls men’s track and field team at the Ted Nelson Classic on Feb. 8.

Wolf placed 23th in the pole vault (10-0) and 27th in the 60 hurdles (9.33). The freshman took 39th in the 400 (55.75) and 69th in the 200 (25.03).

St. Norbert

Oconto Falls graduate Emily Gonnering participated in two events for the St. Norbert women’s track and field team at the Red Hawk Invitational on Feb. 8.

Gonnering placed 19th in the shot put (26-10.5) and 21st in the weight throw (29-10.75).
