Terrence W. Deruchowski

Terrence “Terry” aka “Coach Bear” W. Deruchowski, 72, of Clintonville passed away peacefully Monday morning, Sept. 6, 2021, at Care Partners Assisted Living in Clintonville.

Terry was born on June 19, 1949, in Wausau, the son of the late Theodore and Gilda (Hubert) Deruchowski. He graduated from Wittenberg High School with the Class of 1968. Soon after school, Terry began working for Marion Plywood where he met his future wife, Debra “Debbie” Menge, and the couple were united in marriage on June 3, 1972, in Tigerton. They moved to Clintonville where they became members of St. Martin Lutheran Church. Terry’s health forced him to retire from Marion Plywood after 42 years, but he remained active in the community. Most remember Terry as “Coach Bear” as his passion was coaching and assisting with youth baseball in Clintonville. He also volunteered with St. Martin Lutheran School helping with recess duty so the teachers could get work done in the classroom. Terry also enjoyed deer hunting in his younger years, bowling, and watching the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Brewers. He loved his family very much and had faith in his Lord and Savior.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Debbie Deruchowski; daughters, Tammy (Scott) Behnke and Tracy (Mark) Miller; grandchildren, Mitchell, Benjamin, and Jack Behnke and Callie, Kimberly, and Christopher Miller; a niece, Britney Deruchowski; nephews, Jamie (Audra), Jason (Tammy), and Brady Deruchowski; an aunt, Delores Hubert; also many more relatives and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, a brother Ted Deruchowski Jr., also aunts and uncles, Ramona (Gordon) Bricco, Tommy Hubert, Wayne (Ruth) Sickler, Bev (Marvin) Reissmann, Johnny Deruchowski, and Alex (Helen) Deruchowski.

Terry’s funeral service will be held Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, at 11 a.m. at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville with the Rev. Brian Weber officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Tigerton. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
