Suspect arrested in fatal ATV crash

A Gillett man was arrested in Arkansas after allegedly fleeing the scene of a fatal ATV accident in Oconto County.

Sheriff Todd Skarban said the Oconto County Emergency Dispatch Center received a call at about 7 p.m. Oct. 25 in regard to a two-vehicle accident involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Shawano Line Road at Nelson Road in the Town of Gillett.

Deputies immediately responded to the scene of the accident and observed a westbound ATV laying on its side with the operator laying close by on the road. Deputies also observed a westbound silver 2007 GMC Acadia SUV with front end damage.

The operator of the ATV, identified as Thomas Roberts, 60, Green Bay was struck by an SUV being operated by Obilio Thomas Sargento Robrelo, 32, who resided in the City of Gillett. Lifesaving measures were attempted; however, Roberts died on scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

Robrelo fled the scene on foot after the crash. After exhaustive law enforcement efforts, Robrelo was located and arrested at a hotel in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Robrelo is currently incarcerated at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility awaiting extradition back to Oconto County.
