State recognizes Gillett Middle School

School has been “Beating the Odds” for four consecutive years

The state Department of Public Instruction has again named Gillett Middle School a “School of Recognition” on the basis of being a “Beating the Odds” school.

Such schools are in the top 25% of high-poverty schools in the state and have above-average student achievement in reading and mathematics when compared to schools from similarly sized districts, schools, grade configurations and poverty levels.

This is the fourth consecutive year that Gillett Middle School has received the recognition.

In consideration of the CDC guidelines related to COVID-19, the department canceled the 2019-20 Schools of Recognition Ceremony, which had been set for May 2020. Awards were mailed directly to recipients.
