CECIL — The Washington Inn Supper Club in Cecil remains temporarily closed as of Thursday while the owners address issues raised by a state inspection of the restaurant earlier this month.

According to the Wisconsin Department Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, Bureau of Food and Recreational Businesses web site, a routine inspection of the restaurant was done on Jan. 3 and found a number of violations needing to be corrected.

A reinspection of the facility is required before the restaurant can reopen.

A notice posted outside the restaurant states that “due to unfortunate events, the Washington Inn will be temporarily closed for business.”

The Leader has reached out to the state for additional details, but those details were not available by press time Thursday.

Washington Inn owner Darwin Olsen said the violations are being corrected.

More information, including a full interview with Olsen, will be posted online in the coming days and a more detailed story will appear in Wednesday’s edition.
