Shawano qualifies 4 wrestlers for state

Shawano Community High School qualified four wrestlers for state after competing in the Division 1 Wausau East Sectional on Feb. 6.

To qualify for state, wrestlers had to take either first or second place in their weight class.

Damien Wudtke (113-pound weight class), Wyatt Brandt (126), Gage Timm (195) and Nick Kohn (285) all came in second to earn spots at state.

The nine competing Shawano wrestlers helped the team accumulate 104 points, which was good enough for third place. Marshfield came in first with 111 points, while Holmen (106) was second.
