Shawano-Menominee Circuit Court News

Recent proceedings in Shawano-Menominee County Circuit Court:

• Joshua M. Lapp, 34, of Clintonville, was sentenced by Judge James Habeck Sept. 18 to five years in prison and five years extended supervision on a felony count of using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime. He is also required to register as a sex offender and receive sex offender treatment. Lapp was arrested after a sex sting operation in December 2017 conducted by the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department in which sheriff’s detectives posted ads on the internet posing as a 15-year-old girl.

• Cody D. Cook, 33, of Keshena, was charged Sept. 18 with felony counts of operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent and bail jumping, as well as a misdemeanor count of theft. He could face a maximum 3½ years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted of operating a vehicle without consent and six years and a $10,000 fine for bail jumping. He is scheduled for an initial court appearance on Oct. 14.

• Mark K. Waukau, 39, of Green Bay, was charged Sept. 18 with a felony count of burglary and misdemeanor counts of theft and criminal damage to property that allegedly occurred in Shawano in August 2018. He could face a maximum 12½ years in prison and $25,000 fine on the burglary charge if convicted. Waukau is scheduled for an initial court appearance on Oct. 14.

• Bradley S. Cameron, 34, of Wittenberg, was sentenced by Judge James Habeck on Sept. 18 to 100 hours of community service as a condition of three years’ probation on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine. Cameron had pleaded guilty to the charge.

• April A. Bittner, 39, of Iron River, Michigan, was sentenced by Judge James Habeck to 104 days in jail on a felony count of possession of narcotic drugs. Bittner had pleaded no contest to the charge.

• Todd W. Giese, 18, of Clintonville was charged Sept. 16 with a felony count of second-degree recklessly endangering safety and misdemeanor counts of criminal damage and disorderly conduct. He could face a maximum 10 years in prison and $25,000 fine if convicted. Giese is free on a $1,500 signature bond set by Judge James Habeck and is due back in court for an adjourned initial appearance Oct. 14.

• Shania R. Teller, 20, of Shawano, was sentenced by Judge James Habeck Sept. 13 to eight months in jail and eight hours of community service as a condition of three years’ probation on a felony charge of being party to the crime of manufacture/delivery of cocaine. Teller had pleaded no contest to the charge. Charges of first-degree reckless injury and first-degree recklessly endangering safety were dismissed under the plea agreement. Teller was also sentenced to 90 days in jail, concurrent with her other sentence, on a misdemeanor count of negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
