SHAWANO — A Shawano man is facing multiple felony drug charges, including the delivery or distribution of methamphetamine near a school, after his arrest in the city Thursday.

Anthony R. Warrington, 31, was taken into custody after authorities executed a search warrant at his residence in the 1300 block of South Union Street, across from Olga Brener Intermediate School.

Authorities received a tip from a confidential informant in August that Warrington was selling methamphetamine, according to the criminal complaint.

A controlled drug buy was set up during which Warrington allegedly sold the informant 0.89 grams of meth for $50.

Shawano police and county sheriff’s deputies executing the search warrant seized 1.24 grams of meth and 1.64 grams of marijuana, according to the criminal complaint, along with drug paraphernalia and cash.

According to the criminal complaint, a female subject who was at the residence at the time of the search warrant told authorities Warrington had recently purchased drugs from Lee Lindner, who is out on bond facing multiple felony drug charges in Shawano-Menominee Circuit Court.

She said Warrington had purchased a “ball,” roughly 3.5 grams of meth from Lindner.

Warrington could face a maximum 12½ years in prison and $25,000 fine if convicted of delivery of methamphetamine on or near a school property, and the same possible penalty for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.

He could also face a maximum 3½ years and $10,000 fine for each count of possession of methamphetamine and second or subsequent possession of marijuana.

He is also charged with a felony count of possession of a firearm by a felon, which carries a maximum 10 years in prison and $25,000 fine.

Warrington was ordered held on a $5,000 cash bond set by Judge James Habeck.

He is scheduled for an adjourned initial court appearance Oct. 14.
