The Shawano Community High School girls golf team posted a team score of 204 to tie Xavier at the Bay Conference's final meet of the fall Thursday at Ridgeway Golf Course in Neenah.

The strong finish wasn't enough for Shawano to overtake the top spot in the final conference standings, as Xavier held on to that spot.

Taylor Johnson posted a nine-hole round of 47 to lead Shawano on Thursday. Emily Heling fired a round of 51, while Teghan Kristof and Riley Dreier each posted 53s. Hannah Seehafer (57) rounded out the team score.

The Bonduel girls finished fourth on the day with a team score of 224. The Bears also finished fourth in the final conference standings.

Sydney Luepke led Bonduel in the final meet with a round of 54, while Ava Pleshek and Sara Garside each shot 55s. Thea Tauchen posted a round of 60, while Kerry O'Harrow carded a 69.

Xavier's Lauren Haen was named the conference's player of the year, with Shawano's Johnson posting the second-best individual score to make the all-conference first team. Kristof also made the first team for the Hawks, finishing fourth as an individual.

Shawano's Heling made the second team, while Dreier made the honorable mention team.

Pleshek landed on the second team after leading the Bears this fall. Luepke made the honorable mention team.

Girls golf regionals are scheduled for next Wednesday and Thursday. Shawano is set to compete in the Division 1 Wausau East/West Regional at Greenwood Hills Country Club on Sept. 30, while Bonduel competes in the Division 2 Waupaca Regional at Foxfire Golf Club on Oct. 1.
