Shawano boys tennis team sweeps Green Bay West

The Shawano Community High School boys tennis team won all four of the flights played to sweep Green Bay West in a Bay Conference match May 11 in Shawano.

Three of the flights played were singles matchups. Camden Kroll (No. 1), Leo Liu (No. 2) and Joe Mente (No. 3) earned wins for Shawano, while Carson Cummings took the No. 4 singles match by forfeit.

Nolan Buck and Rory Johnson teamed up for Shawano at No. 1 doubles, the only doubles matchup of the afternoon. Josh Bergmann and Tristan Szucs earned the No. 2 doubles win by forfeit, while Caden Tetting and Trsitan Tetting got the forfeit win at No. 3 doubles.

The closest matchup of the day came at No. 2 singles. Liu won the first set 6-0 but then had to work hard for a 7-5 win in set two.

Mente cruised to his singles victory, winning 6-0, 6-0. Kroll dropped a point in the first set, but still eased to a 6-1, 6-0 win.

Buck and Johnson also dropped just one point on the day, winning 6-0, 6-1.
