Three Shawano Community High School boys soccer players earned all-conference honors from the Bay Conference.

Senior Lucas te Plate (defender) made the first team. Junior Ethan Schwitzer (defender) was on the second team and sophomore Chad Norton (defender) on the honorable mention list.

Along with providing strong defense and leadership, te Plate also scored two goals this fall.

“In my senior season, it means a lot going out on a good note especially since I haven’t been selected to any other conference teams,” said te Plate on the all-conference honor. “I think with a shortened season and not playing as many games as normal that it was nice to get this recognition.”

Coach Andrew Brooks noted that Schwitzer missed some time this fall, and he likely would have made the first team if he had played the entire season. “Ethan gives you every thing he has on the field and is a natural leader,” added Brooks.

Brooks said Norton “anchored our defense in the middle” in what was the sophomore’s first year on varsity. “The sky is the limit for Chad. If he has a strong offseason, I have no doubt he will be an outstanding defender,” said Brooks.
