Santa coming to Gillett to open Christmas in the Park

Socially distanced visit is part of this year's event

It may be the busiest time of the year for old St. Nick, but that isn’t stopping him from spending some time in one of his favorite places away from the North Pole: Gillett, Wisconsin.

Santa is scheduled to arrive at Zippel Park, on North McKenzie Street, from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5.

This will be a safe and socially distanced Santa visit for families. Due to the pandemic, guests will not sit on Santa’s lap during their interaction this year, but they will have the opportunity to engage and wave as they drive by. Kids will receive a free treat bag and have the chance to submit a letter to Santa, who will choose two lucky kids to receive an early Christmas present delivered by Santa’s helpers on Dec. 12. The lighting of the park will take place at 5 p.m., with fireworks to follow.

Fireworks this year are provided by the Boom Boom Boys, KS Plumbing, Wolfe Endeavors, Tri County Pumpers, Arndt Trucking, Joe Arndt Trucking and First Rate Driving School.
