Ronald G. Kalous

Ronald G. Kalous, 79, of Suring, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022. Ron was born Dec. 17, 1942, to the late Muryl and Evalene (Recker) Kalous in Missoula, Montana. He graduated from Gillett High School with the class of 1962. Ron enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school and served for five years, serving mostly in Puerto Rico.

Ron is survived by his four children, Gina (David) Patzer, Julie (Lloyd) Heise, Tony (Holly) Kalous and Jenny (Ryan) Friedman; grandchildren, Kysaundra Patzer, Joseph (Kira) Patzer, Jacob (Daunte Leong) Patzer, Jarod (Liz) Chazell, Evelyn Kalous, Alexander Kalous, Kiley Van Roy, Brenna Van Roy, Haydin Ness, Emma Ness and Dakota Friedman; great-granddaughter, Olivia Marie Kiedrowski; three siblings, David (Kathy) Kalous, Sharon Raatz and Nancy (Mike) Stark. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Kathleen D. (Heise) and Kathy L. (Credille) Kalous; and brother-in-law, Mel Raatz.

Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was a talented artist, a history buff, and loved westerns. He was in many leagues over the years, archery, pool, dart, and trap, and was a very active part of his communities, involved in many organizations; Boy Scouts of America, hunter safety, Suring/Gillett High School golf coach, and a member of the Gillett VFW and Suring Legion.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at Breed Union Cemetery on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at 11 a.m. with a celebration of life and luncheon following at the Breed Town Hall. All who knew and loved Ron are invited and welcome to attend.
