Randal L. Block

Randal L. Block, 83, of Ripon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024, at Maplecrest Manor in Ripon, with his loving family by his side.

Randy was born in Tomahawk on July 17, 1941, son of Benjamin and Anna (Luckjohn) Block. He graduated from Wittenberg High School and went on to earn a degree at Wausau Technical Institute. On Dec. 2, 1961, he married Jeneene Bloecher in Wittenberg.

After moving to Ripon, Randy was employed at Green Giant in the container division. Later, he worked as a carpenter, and most recently was a construction manager at Modern Pole Builders until his retirement in 2003.

Randy was a charter member, longtime trustee and devoted member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved time spent at the hunting cabin, as well as at their family cottage near Stevens Point. Randy played cards, dartball, coached baseball, and, of course, was an avid Packers and Brewers fan.

He and Jeneene always looked forward to their yearly trip to Arizona to visit her family. Most of all, he cherished his time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Jeneene Block, of Ripon; children, Debbi Block, of Ripon, David (Karla) Block, of Ripon, Julie (Bob) Socha, of Green Lake, and Daniel (Lisa) Block of Escanaba, Michigan; grandchildren, Kayla (Ben) Murphy, Heather (Jeff) Relien, Jared (special friend Taylor) Block, Ryan (Celyna) Socha, Aaron Socha, T.J. (Danielle) Carlson, Samantha (special friend Jake) Carlson, Emily (Jace) Briggs and Madison (special friend Ian) Block; six great-grandchildren, Joel, Isaiah, Hudson, Tyson, Hazel and Liana; a brother, Wayne (Linda) Block; brother-in-law, Lee Innerebner; sister-in-law, Janis Kunze; a niece, Christina (Joe) Klinge; and two nephews, Matthew (Susan) Block and Brian Innerebner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Anna Block; in-laws, Harold and Josie Bloecher; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Innerebner; and a niece, Jodi Behreandt.
