Pulaski becomes first Dairyland team to three wins

Shawano, Nichols, Bonduel also earn wins Sunday

Four Dairyland League matchups were played on Sunday, with three teams earning their second wins and Pulaski becoming the first team to get three wins.

Pulaski 13, Cecil 4

The Pulaski Reds rolled to a road victory over the Cecil Mudhens, tallying the final 13 runs of the contest.

Cecil scored four first-innings runs and led 4-2 after five innings. Pulaski scored three times in the sixth to grab the lead, six times in the eighth to pull away and two more times in the ninth to finish off the win.

Cecil’s Taylor Splan hit a home run, while Conrad Feivor drove in the team’s other three runs. Jake Hebert finished with three hits. Five different Mudhen pitchers were needed, with Brandon Hagel working the first five frames and allowing five runs.

Pulaski is now 3-0, while Cecil slipped to 0-3.

Bonduel 4, Hofa Park 3

The Bonduel Broncos rallied to a home win over the Hofa Park Panthers to improve to 2-1.

Bonduel grabbed an early 1-0 lead before Hofa Park scored all three of its runs in the fifth inning. The hosts tied it in the sixth before Colton Dobratz delivered a two-out single in the eighth to give Bonduel the lead for good.

Hunter Van Der Linden worked two innings and struck out three batters to pick up the win on the mound. Luke Kostreva drove in two of the Broncos’ runs.

Hofa Park, winners of the past five Dairyland titles, dropped to 1-3 overall.

Shawano 9, Navarino 3

The Shawano Lobos bumped their record to 2-1 after a road win over the Navarino Rangers on Sunday.

Kendall Lecker and Brett Krull each posted two hits for Navarino, which fell to 1-2 on the season. Kyle Finger had a RBI double. Paul Sellner, Lecker and Matt Krause all pitched for the Rangers.

Nichols 6, Hortonville 4

The Nichols Nitros earned a road win over the Hortonville Stars to improve to 2-1 overall.

Hortonville fell to 1-2.

Waupaca, Freedom game rescheduled

Due to “unfortunate field circumstances,” the matchup between Freedom and Waupaca in Freedom was postponed and rescheduled. Freedom made the announcement on June 25 on its Facebook page.

The rescheduled game will take place at 1:30 p.m. on July 5 in Waupaca.
