PeeWee play wraps up Crawford Center youth tournament season

Bantam and Squirt tournaments played in January

SHAWANO — The Crawford Center wrapped up its third and final weekend of youth hockey tournaments with the PeeWee B and C tournaments on Feb. 7-9.

The Crawford Center was also the host for the Bantam B and C tournaments and Squirt B and C tournaments on Jan. 24-26 and Jan. 10-12, respectively. Twelve teams competed on each of the three weekends.

The Shawano B PeeWee team knocked off Sheboygan 6-2 for third place in the four-team-tournament.

Waupun topped Niles (Illinois) 4-3 in overtime for first place.

In the C-level tournament, which featured eight teams, Milwaukee Blaze took first place after a 3-1 win over Medford. Crystal Lake (Illinois) came in third with a 4-2 win over Ozaukee.

During the Bantam tournaments (Jan. 24-26), the Shawano B team took first place. The team topped Negaunee (Michigan) 4-1 for the top spot.

Escanaba (Michigan) topped Rice Lake 8-1 for third place.

Black River Falls took first place in the C-level tournament after a 5-0 win over Milwaukee SHAW. Crystal Lake took third with a 6-3 win over Middleton.

The Shawano C team claimed fifth place.

During the Squirt tournaments (Jan. 10-12), the Shawano B team took first place, while the Shawano C team placed fourth.

The Shawano B team secured first after a 3-0 win over Kenosha. The Shawano C team dropped a 5-0 game to Sheboygan and had to settle for fourth.

Niles came in third in the B tournament with a 3-1 win over D.C. Everest.

Kenosha won the C tournament with a 4-1 win over Elmbrook.
