Members of the Oconto Falls High School football team played a big role in cleaning up the city after severe thunderstorms rumbled through the area earlier this month.

City Administrator Vicki Roberts told the city council Aug. 10 that the football players and coaches stepped forward to help the street department clear brush.

“They hauled out over 30 loads of wood,” Roberts said. “Thank you notes will be going out to all the entities that helped the city with the brush cleanup. Thank you very much, Oconto Falls School District; that really meant a lot to help this community with all the fallen timber that we really couldn’t keep up with.”
