Packers announce roster moves

The Green Bay Packers have signed tight end Tyler Davis off the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad and placed defensive lineman Tyler Lancaster on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Sept. 28.

Davis, a 6-foot-4, 252-pound, second-year player out of Georgia Tech, was originally selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round (No. 206 overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played in eight games as a rookie for the Jaguars.

After being released by Jacksonville following the 2021 training camp, Davis was signed to the Colts’ practice squad Sept. 3.

In college, he appeared in 48 games at Connecticut (2016-18) and Georgia Tech (2019), registering 64 receptions for 648 yards (10.1 avg.) and eight touchdowns. Davis will wear No. 84 for the Packers.

Per agreed-upon NFL-NFLPA policy, clubs are not permitted to comment on a player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list is for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been in close contact with an infected person or persons.
