The Green Bay Packers play their first home game of the 2021 season against the Detroit Lions on Monday and are hoping to pick up their first win after a tough opening week against the New Orleans Saints.

Here are some numbers that Packers players and coaches have accumulated over the years and highlight some things to watch when Green Bay and Detroit meet:

4

The number of consecutive wins the Packers have against the Lions heading into Monday’s matchup. Coach Matt LaFleur took over as the Packers’ head coach in 2019 and has not lost to the Lions yet.

73

Combined points for the Packers in their two wins over the Lions in 2020. Green Bay won 42-21 at Lambeau Field and 31-24 at Ford Field in Detroit.

5

Touchdown passes for quarterback Aaron Rodgers in last year’s wins over the Lions. Rodgers was held without a touchdown pass against the Saints, something that only happened once during his MVP season in 2020.

237

Combined rushing yards for running back Aaron Jones against the Lions a season ago. Jones had only nine rushing yards against the Saints.

8

Sacks for the Packers against the Lions last year. Green Bay didn’t register a sack against the Saints in week one.

36.8

Passer rating for Rodgers against the Saints in week one. Against the Lions last year, Rodgers posted passer ratings of 133.6 and 107.6.

25:24

Time of possession for Green Bay in its season-opening loss to New Orleans. The Packers led the league in time of possession in 2020 with a mark of 32:50, over a minute more than the next team.

3

Turnovers for the Packers in week one — two interceptions by Rodgers and a fumble by backup quarterback Jordan Love. Green Bay’s defense also failed to create any turnovers. The minus-three differential is an oddity for the Packers, which finished with a mark of plus-seven a year ago.

442

Total yards for the San Francisco 49ers in their 41-33 win over the Lions in week one. Green Bay was held to just 229 total yards in week one. The Packers averaged 449 total yards against the Lions last year.

33

For all the things that went wrong for the Packers in week one, one thing they did was was avoid penalties. Green Bay was flagged five times for 33 yards. The Lions were penalized five times for 45 yards in week one.
