Oconto Falls hospital receives national award

HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital is the recipient of a 2023 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in providing quality health care. Compiled by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards honor the top-performing rural hospitals in the areas of quality, outcomes and/or patient perspective.

“At HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital, we take pride in providing our patients the highest quality of care - the type of care our neighbors and visitors deserve and expect,” said Chris Brabant, president and CEO of the Oconto Falls hospital. “This award is a great example of our commitment to providing high quality, accessible health care in Oconto County.”

Performance Leadership Awards are based on the results of The Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX, the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. INDEX data is relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations and state offices of rural health around the country to measure and monitor performance across several areas impacting hospital operations and finance.

“Wherever we go in rural America, we witness first-hand the commitment, determination and compassion with which rural hospitals serve their communities. Rural health care truly is mission-driven,” said Michael Topchik, national leader of The Chartis Center. “Let us recognize the efforts of our Performance Leadership Award winners and all those driven to deliver high quality care throughout rural communities.”

In 2022, HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital was named a Top 22 Critical Access Hospital in the U.S. by The Chartis Center for Rural Health.
