The Oconto Falls High School girls golf team placed seventh at the Division 2 The Prairie School Sectional on Tuesday at Ives Grove Golf Links in Racine.

The top-two finishing teams at the sectional qualified for state. The Prairie School and Freedom earned the team state bids.

The top-three individual golfers from any other teams also qualified for state. The three individual qualifiers posted 18-hole rounds of 81, 82 and 87.

Kaylee Sadowski was Oconto Falls’ top golfer on the day, carding a 97 to tie for 16th place. She posted a score of 51 on the front nine before a 46 on the back nine.

“With this being my last year, it couldn’t have ended any better,” said Sadowski. “Making it as a team to sectionals was a time we will never forget. The experience was more than we could have ever asked for! This season was hard knowing that we may not even get a season. Being able to go to practices, matches, and sectionals was more than I could have ever bargained for. I am grateful that we could finish out the year as outstanding as we did. Wouldn’t have wanted to wrap up my senior year any other way!”

Morgan Blazek was the team’s second-best finisher with a round of 107. Blazek tallied a 52 on the front nine.

Kearra Champeau (119), Kate Pytleski (124) and Carli Fischer (125) filled out the Panthers five-golfer team. Champeau and Fischer each fared better on the back nine, while Pytleski finished with 62s on the front and back nine.
