Oconto Falls girls golf team 1st at NEC meet

The Oconto Falls High School girls golf team took first at a North Eastern Conference meet on Aug. 18 at River Island Golf Course in Oconto Falls.

The Panthers tallied a score of 205, 14 shots better than Denmark. Waupaca did not qualify for a team score.

Kate Pytleski led Oconto Falls with a nine-hole round of 48, tied for the best individual score of the day.

Kenadee Seidl fired a 51, while Kloeigh Seidl shot a 52. Lexi Nelson tallied a 54 and Taylor Miller a 60 to cap the five-golfer team.

Shawano ties for 4th at invite

Shawano tied for fourth place during the 14-team Thunder Invite on Aug. 17 at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Seymour.

The Hawks had a team score of 391, the same score as Hortonville and Xavier. Shawano trailed only Kaukauna (343), Neenah (354) and Green Bay Preble (388).

Sophia Eggert led the Hawks with an 18-hole round of 88. Teghan Kristof tallied a 96, while Braylyn Babino had a 99. Riley Dreier (108) and Madelyn Moesch (111) capped the five-golfer team.

Hawks finish 6th at scramble

Shawano opened a busy week of golf by placing sixth during the Heart of the Valley Metro Championship on Aug. 15 at High Cliff Golf Course in Sherwood.

The Hawks had a team score of 171, behind Kaukauna (150), Appleton North (154), Neenah (157), Kimberly (161) and De Pere (169).
