Oconto County Historical Society cancels Fall Speaker Series

Oconto County Historical Society is canceling its speaker series programs for the rest of the year, as a result of ongoing concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.

The programs are usually held on the first Thursday of each month during the fall and winter.

A statement issued by the Officers and Members of the Board of Directors of the Society reads:

“After much thought and consideration, it is with sadness that we have made the decision, in light of the current situation, to cancel the speaker series programs for the remainder of 2020,” the society’s board said in a statement. “We feel it is the right decision to make in order to keep program presenters and those who attend the programs safe during this time of uncertainty. We hope to be able to present programs starting in January 2021 and continuing each month through April.”
