Proceedings of July 8

Jesus Flores Diaz, 40, Green Bay, was sentenced to 18 months in prison, followed by two years of extended supervision, for fleeing an officer in a vehicle, in connection with an incident that occurred Jan. 30. Judge Jay N. Conley also imposed and stayed an identical consecutive sentence for taking and driving a vehicle without consent in the same incident, adding two years’ probation instead. He gave Diaz credit for 160 days already served in the county jail. During extended supervision and probation, he must maintain absolute sobriety and complete all assessments, counseling and treatment deemed necessary by his agent.

Proceedings of July 7

Martin Cooper, 51, Mountain, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (10th or more offense) and misdemeanor operating while his license was revoked, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Dec. 7. A plea hearing was scheduled for Aug. 17.

A jury trial beginning July 29 was postponed at the defense’s request for Scott Glen Sorenson, 56, De Pere, who is charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fourth offense), in connection with an Oct. 10, 2019, crash in the town of Stiles. A new pre-trial conference was scheduled for Sept. 3.

Tyler J. Wolf, 31, Oconto, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to circuit court on two counts of felony bail jumping, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred May 25. Meanwhile, a July 20 jury trial was called off, in which he is charged with strangulation and suffocation and misdemeanor counts of battery, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Oct. 15. Arraignment on the new charges, and a status conference on the old charges, were scheduled for Aug. 12.

After a preliminary hearing, Joey E. Kingsley, 40, Oconto, was bound over to circuit court on charges of escape from criminal arrest, two counts misdemeanor counts of resisting or obstructing an officer and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred May 12. Arraignment was scheduled for July 12.

Cory Lee Lohman, 39, Shawano, pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony, two misdemeanor counts of failure to obtain approval for deer hunting and misdemeanor illegal shining of deer, elk or bear, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Nov. 7. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Aug. 16.

Proceedings of July 6

Allen J. Weller, 18, Oconto, was placed on three years’ probation after a prison sentence was imposed and stayed for felony bail jumping, in connection with an incident that occurred Dec. 5. Judge Michael T. Judge ruled that during probation Weller must comply with any assessments, counseling and treatment deemed necessary by his agent.

Brianna Rose Balfantz, 20, Townsend, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over on a charge of felony bail jumping, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred May 26. Arraignment was set for July 15, along with a status conference on burglary and misdemeanor theft charges from an alleged Feb. 17 incident.
