Proceedings of Dec. 13

Kenny D. Carter, 24, Oconto Falls, was sentenced to five years in prison, followed by five years of extended supervision, for causing a child under 13 to view a sexual act, in connection with an incident that occurred Dec. 19, 2018. Seven other charges were dismissed but read into the record, including aggravated battery, witness intimidation and three counts of strangulation-suffocation. Judge Michael T. Judge ordered that during his extended supervision, Carter must maintain absolute sobriety and have no contact with minor children withour supervision and approval of his probation and parole agent. He must register as a sex offender and follow through with all counseling and treatment ordered by his agent.

Darrin A. Niec, 19, Phelps, formerly Pulaski, was placed on three years of probation beginning with nine months in jail for aggravated battery, in connection with an incident that occurred Dec. 2, 2018. Judge Michael T. Judge granted Huber work-release privileges and gave Niec credit for 77 days already served. Niec may have no contact with the victim or any minor females without approval by his probation agent, and he must take any counseling or classes requested by the agent.

Leon E. Prioleau, 39, Oconto Falls, pleaded no contest to false imprisonment in connection with a domestic incident that occurred April 25. Judge Michael T. Judge scheduled sentencing for Feb. 12 and ordered a presentence investigation.

A Feb. 20 jury trial was scheduled for Adam J. Julius, 19, Oconto Falls, on a charge of battery by a prisoner, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred June 9. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for Feb. 10.

Austin H.R. Payette, 18, Coleman, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor counts of battery and sexual contact with a child between the ages of 15 and 18, in connection with an incident that occurred June 17. The battery charge was reduced from felony child abuse in a plea agreement. Judge Jay N. Conley placed Payette on 18 months probation and ordered him to have no contact with the victim.

Jackson George O’Connell, 18, Green Bay, pleaded contest to two misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property, in connection with an incident that occurred Aug. 7. The prosecution had filed an amended complaint removing a previous felony charge of possession of burglarious tools. Judge Michael T. Judge placed O’Connell in the Oconto County Volunteers in Probation program through Aug. 1, 2020, and ordered 60 hours of community service to be coordinated with VIP.

Proceedings of Dec. 12

Holly T. Santa-Ana, 30, Fairfax, Virginia, pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree reckless homicide in the drug-related death of Christian Matelski in Gillett, Jan. 3, 2016. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Feb. 13.

A three-day jury trial starting April 7 was scheduled in the case of Cade Wied, 19, Sobieski, on charges of second-degree reckless homicide, second-degree reckless injury, and two counts of knowingly driving with a suspended license in connection with the Dec. 14, 2018, crash that killed 14-year-old September Deneys and injured Wied and another youth. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for March 27.

Bond was set at $10,000 cash for Travis J. Ragen, 30, Lena, who is charged with second-degree reckless homicide in the Nov. 15 crash that killed Melissa J. Cota, 53, of Oconto. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Dec. 18.

An April 22 jury trial was scheduled for Justin J. Coppens, 30, Gillett, who is charged with possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Oct. 6, and bail jumping for an incident that allegedly occurred March 21. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for April 13.

A March 18 jury trial was scheduled for Chad W. Dunks, 38, Oconto, on charges of first-degree reckless endangering safety, aggravated battery, substantial battery intending bodily harm, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Jan. 4. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for March 9.

An April 22 jury trial was scheduled in the case of Jordan Richard Brisson, 26, Little Suamico, on a charge of child abuse recklessly causing great harm, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Feb. 15. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for April 13.

Destiny Rose Baugnet, 20, Gillett, pleaded not guilty to a charge of misappropriating identity information to obtain money, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Feb. 4. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Jan. 16.

Amanda Nicole Diedrich, 38, Oconto, pleaded not guilty to charges of battery or threat to a (law enforcement officer), misdemeanor resisting/obstructing an officer and two counts of disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred May 13. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Jan. 16.

A March 24 jury trial was scheduled for Joseph J. Brandt, 39, Lena, on charges of false imprisonment, bail jumping, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct in connection with a domestic incident that allegedly occurred May 29. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for Jan. 16.

Sarah E. Stoneburner, 34, Oconto Falls, pleaded not guilty to two counts of fraud against a financial institution, in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred Jan. 11 and Feb. 8. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for March 12.

Brandon M. Hanna, 36, Oconto, pleaded not guilty to charges of burglary, misdemeanor theft, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Sept. 26. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Jan. 16.

John S. Wiercioch Jr., 40, Suring, pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, injury by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, substantial battery, and misdemeanor battery, reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (second offense), in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Sept. 21. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Jan. 16.

Daniel L. McDermid, 38, Oconto Falls, pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, as well as misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct, in connection with a domestic incident that allegedly occurred Oct. 4. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Jan. 16.

Richard R. Volm, 59, Pound, pleaded not guilty to possession of narcotic drugs, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Nov. 7. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Jan. 16.

Eric Stephen Walton, 42, Oconto Falls, pleaded not guilty to felony charges of child neglect and bail jumping, and misdemeanor charges of resisting/obstructing an officer and bail jumping, in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred in October and November. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Jan. 16.

Proceedings of Dec. 11

A $10,000 signature bond was set for Alexandria Tonya Beres, 19, formerly of Lena, on charges of stalking and misdemeanor two counts reckless driving-endangering safety, sending a threatening computer message, and operating a motor vehicle while her license is revoked, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Oct. 21.

A $5,000 signature bond was set for Jasmine Skye Williams, 27, Keshena, who is charged with reckless driving causing great bodily harm in connection with an accident Nov. 5 on County Road VV near County Road HH in the town of Underhill. Her initial appearance was adjourned until Jan. 16.
