Proceedings of Oct. 4

Brent W. Walker, 35, Gillett, was placed on three years of probation for possession of methamphetamine in connection with an incident that occurred Dec. 1. Judge Jay N. Conley ordered probation after imposing and then staying an 18-month prison sentence followed by two years of extended supervision. Probation conditions include four months in county jail and maintaining absolute sobriety and full-time employment.

Proceedings of Sept. 30

Paul D. Chartrand, 36, Oconto Falls, pleaded no contest to a charge of witness intimidation with the use of or attempted force, in connection with an incident that occurred April 12. A charge of burglary while armed with a dangerous weapon was dismissed but will be read into the record at sentencing, which Judge Michael T. Judge scheduled for Nov. 5 while ordering a presentence investigation.

Faith M. Kaminski, 20, Lena, pleaded no contest to a charge of taking and driving a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Oct. 29, 2018. A related misdemeanor count of criminal damage to property was dismissed but will be read into the record at sentencing, which Judge Michael T. Judge scheduled for Nov. 13. He also ordered a presentence investigation.

Joshua R. Uphill, 21, Oconto, pleaded no contest to possession of methamphetamine (second and subsequent offense) in connection with a June 8 incident. Charges of manufacture/delivery of amphetamine and maintaining a drug trafficking place were dismissed but will be read into the record at sentencing, which Judge Michael T. Judge scheduled for Nov. 15 while ordering a presentence investigation.

After a preliminary hearing Jason L. Mulikin, 43, Kingsford, Michigan, was bound over on charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drugs, and possession of illegally obtained prescription drugs, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Sept. 9. Arraignment was scheduled for Oct. 17.

Matthew J. Meunier, 40, Lena, pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor counts of issuing worthless checks, in connection with incidents that took place Sept. 3, 2018. Seven other counts were dismissed as part of a plea agreement; the charges were originally filed as felonies. Judge Michael T. Judge withheld sentencing, placed Meunier in the Oconto County Volunteers in Probation program for one year, and ordered restitution, fines and fees totaling $1,527.45 payable by Sept. 30, 2020.

Proceedings of Sept. 25

Dakota James Ducane, 24, Suring, was placed on 18 months of probation, including 20 days in jail, for theft of movable property-special facts in connection with an incident that occurred May 15, 2018. A misdemeanor charge of resisting or obstructing an officer was dismissed but was read into the record. Conditions of probation include payment of a total of $2,522.16 in restitution and the right to petition for expungement of his record if he successfully completes probation and stays crime-free for another year.

R. Brandon Bender, 34, Antigo, pleaded not guilty to charges of strangulation and suffocation and misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred July 5. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Nov. 14.

Proceedings of Sept. 24

Kevin J. Schuth, 51, Appleton, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of possession of THC, in connection with an incident that occurred May 16, 2017, and bail jumping, in connection with a Sept. 14, 2017, incident. The drug charge was originally filed as a felony. Judge Jay N. Conley scheduled sentencing for Nov. 13 and ordered a presentence investigation.

Cole Brian Nowinski, 24, Little Suamico, pleaded no contest to a charge of fleeing an officer in his vehicle, in connection with an incident that occurred March 30. A misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing an officer was dismissed but will be read into the record at sentencing, which was scheduled for Nov. 5. Judge Michael T. Judge ordered a presentence investigation.

Abigail L Mineau, 21, Oconto, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery, in connection with an incident that occurred April 13, and felony bail jumping, in connection with an April 23 incident. Several related charges were dismissed but will be read into the record at sentencing, which Michael T. Judge scheduled for Nov. 1. He also ordered a presentence investigation.

Christopher L. Mueller, 29, Oconto, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, in connection with an incident that occurred May 23. Judge Michael T. Judge scheduled sentencing for Nov. 1 and ordered a presentence investigation.

Joseph J. Brandt, 39, Lena, pleaded not guilty to charges of false imprisonment, bail jumping, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct in connection with a domestic incident that allegedly occurred May 29. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Nov. 14.

Becky A. Fulcher, 47, Marinette, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over on a charge of second-degree sexual assault in a treatment facility. Arraignment was scheduled for Oct. 17.

James E. McDonald, 30, Oconto, pleaded not guilty to one count each of felony and misdemeanor child neglect, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred April 4. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Nov. 14.
