Proceedings of Dec. 16

Salvador M. Ortiz, 29, Oconto Falls, was sentenced to four years in prison, followed by five years of extended supervision, for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and a misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing an officer, in connection with an incident that occurred July 21. Judge Jay N. Conley ruled that the sentence is consecutive to other sentences he is currently serving. During extended supervision, Ortiz must maintain absolute sobriety and full-time employment and may have no contact with anyone known to use or sell drugs, among other conditions.

Keith A. Smet, 35, Lena, was placed on three years of probation after a prison sentence was imposed and stayed for a sex registry violation that took place in 2018. Judge Michael T. Judge ruled that probation conditions include 180 days in the Oconto County Jail with Huber Law work-release and good-time privileges, along with 29 days credit for time already served. Smet also must maintain absolute sobriety and enter into, participate in and successfully complete any assessments, evaluations and/or treatment programs directed by the Department of Corrections.

Josenel I. Williamson, 40, Menominee, Michigan, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over on charges of interfering with child custody, and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, child neglect, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred July 31, as well as felony bail jumping and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, in connection with an alleged Aug. 21 incident. Arraignment was scheduled for Feb. 16.

Beth Tara Johnson, 38, Wallace, Michigan, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred July 23. Arraignment was scheduled for Jan. 12.

Proceedings of Dec. 15

A jury trial was rescheduled for March 8-10 for Alisha M. Kocken, 30, Oconto Falls, on charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, resisting an officer causing substantial bodily harm, battery to a law officer, aggravated battery, disarming a police officer, and misdemeanor counts of intentionally pointing a firearm at a person, discharging a firearm within 100 yards of a building and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 6. Kocken is accused of shooting and wounding Oconto Falls Police Officer Nicole Blaskowski during an incident at Kocken’s apartment complex. A pre-trial motion hearing was scheduled for 9 a.m. Jan. 6.

A jury trial was scheduled for May 2-4 for David SanRoman, 46, Oconto, who is charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child under age 13, two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child under age 12 and one count of second-degree sexual assault of a child, all charging him as a persistent repeater, in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred from 2016 to 2020. He also faces two felony bail jumping charges in connection with incidents that allegedly Jan. 17, 2020, and Aug. 24, 2020. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for April 20.

A Feb. 2 jury trial was scheduled for Steven M. Schmitz, 68, Crivitz, who is charged with three counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Feb. 16, 2020. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for Jan. 17.

A June 29 jury trial was scheduled for Rodger A. Otradovec, 41, Suring, on charges of attempted strangulation-suffocation and misdemeanor counts of battery and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Dec. 3, 2021. A final pre-trial conference was set for June 16.

A July 20 jury trial was scheduled for Rachel E. Van, 39, Green Bay, on charges of possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor resisting or obstructing an officer, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Feb. 7. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for July 7.

A May 2 jury trial was scheduled for Scott Patrick Keller, 50, Marinette, on charges of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred May 19. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for April 17.

A jury trial was scheduled for March 30 for George E. Gernon, 39, Little Suamico, on charges of possession of narcotic drugs, possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred June 6. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for March 21.

A jury trial was rescheduled for May 31 for Bruce J. Carr, 69, Gresham, on charges of possession with intent to deliver THC and maintaining a drug trafficking place, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Feb. 8, 2019, as well as felony bail jumping and a misdemeanor count of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (third offense), in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Dec. 17, 2021. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for May 15.

Lakisha M. Nash, 45, Hobart, pleaded not guilty to second-degree reckless endangering safety and fleeing an officer, and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (first offense), in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Sept. 11, 2021. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Feb. 16.

Austin J. Hoffman, 18, Suring, pleaded not guilty to child abuse recklessly causing harm, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Oct. 7. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Jan. 12.

Lynn Marie Osmon, 42, Oconto, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over on charges of child neglect, misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Oct. 31. Arraignment was scheduled for Feb. 16.

A $10,000 signature bond was set for Heidi Barbara Dorow, 39, Lena, after she was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and victim intimidation threatening force, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Nov. 13. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Jan. 27.

Proceedings of Dec. 14

Eric J. Styczynski, 43, Gillett, was sentenced to 18 months in prison, followed by two years of extended supervision, for soliciting an intimate representation from a minor, in connection with an incident that occurred Jan. 13, and a misdemeanor charge of battery, in connection with a Jan. 10 incident. He was given credit for 265 days already served in the county jail. Judge ruled that among other conditions of extended supervision, Styczynski may not contact the victims and must obtain approval from his corrections agent before going on the internet or entering into a dating relationship.

Jeremy James Johnson, 40, Oconto Falls, was placed on three years’ probation after a prison sentence was imposed and stayed for possession of narcotic drugs, in connection with an incident that occurred Feb. 18. Judge ruled that among other probation conditions, Johnson must maintain absolute sobriety and full-time employment and enter into, participate in and successfully complete any assessments, evaluations and/or treatment programs as directed by the Department of Corrections.

Proceedings of Dec. 13

A jury trial was rescheduled for May 16-18 for Michael N. Adams, 44, Milan, Illinois, on a charge of first-degree child sex assault and another related charge, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred July 25, 2020, and a misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing an officer, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 10, 2020. A motion hearing and final pre-trial conference was set for April 25.

Bond was set at $5,000 cash for Randall R. Kellogg, 33, Suring, after he was charged with child abuse intentionally causing harm, felony bail jumping and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Dec. 12. His initial appearance was adjourned until Jan. 12.
