Proceedings of Oct. 21

• Robert J. Trepanier, 58, Oconto, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over on charges of battery or threat to a law officer and misdemeanor criminal damage to property, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred July 10. Arraignment was scheduled for Oct. 25.

• After a preliminary hearing, Tanner A. Friebel, 21, Suring, was bound over on charges of possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 26. Arraignment was scheduled for Nov. 17.

Proceedings of Oct. 20

• James R. Schiller, 61, Oconto, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to bail jumping, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 30. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Nov. 17.

Proceedings of Oct. 19

• Shana Lynn Courchaine, 24, Green Bay, pleaded no contest to possession of methamphetamine, in connection with an incident that occurred March 10. In accordance with a deferred judgment agreement, Judge Michael T. Judge withheld sentencing and placed Courchaine on one year of probation, with conditions including that she maintain absolute sobriety, complete an alcohol and other drug abuse assessment and follow through on any recommended treatment or counseling.

• Jenna R. Garrigan, 33, Oconto Falls, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to charges of felony bail jumping and misdemeanor disorderly conduct in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred April 2, and additional charges of felony bail jumping and misdemeanor disorderly conduct in connection with an alleged Aug. 27 incident. She was already awaiting trial on charges of false imprisonment and misdemeanor disorderly conduct in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred March 27. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Nov. 17.

Proceedings of Oct. 18

• Sylvia M. Mcvay, 44, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine in connection with an incident that occurred April 28, 2020. Judge levied fines and court fees totaling $1,793.

• Reese Ashley Chapin, 17, Gillett, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of taking and driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent and resisting or obstructing an officer, in connection with an incident that occurred Aug. 10. The first charge was amended from a felony in a plea agreement.

Judge Jay N. Conley imposed but stayed a 1½-year county jail sentence and placed Chapin on two years of probation, beginning with four months in the county jail, minus 68 days already served. The jail time includes Huber release privileges for school and/or work. Conley ordered her to maintain absolute sobriety during probation and complete an alcohol and other drug assessment, following through on any recommendations.

• After a preliminary hearing, Adrian Avila, 22, Green Bay, was bound over and pleaded not guilty to possession with intent to deliver amphetamine or methamphetamine, bail jumping and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 9. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Dec. 15.

Proceedings of Oct. 17

• Salvador M. Ortiz, 28, Oconto Falls, pleaded no contest to possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and a misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing an officer, in connection with an incident that occurred July 21. Conley scheduled sentencing for Dec. 6 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

• A Dec. 13-14 jury trial was scheduled for Travis R. Bolssen, 47, an inmate at Stanley Correctional Institution, who is charged with repeated sexual assault of the same child in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred in 2020. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 27 and a final pre-trial conference for Dec. 12.

• After a bail/bond hearing, bond was reduced from $10,000 to $5,000 cash for Kevin J. Verhagen, 47, Little Suamico, with the additional $5,000 directed toward paying his attorney. Verhagen faces four counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred June 25, 2021. Bail conditions include that he have no contact with the alleged victim and must have parental supervision of anyone younger than 18. A status conference was scheduled for Dec. 19.
