Proceedings of June 10

Ethan Curtis Wykle, 18, Oconto, pleaded no contest to possession of methamphetamine, in connection with an incident that occurred March 1. Charges of bail jumping and misdemeanor possession of THC, from a May 5 incident, were dismissed but read into the record in a plea agreement. Judge Jay N. Conley scheduled sentencing for Aug. 1 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Brandon J. Neumann, 28, Gillett, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of resisting or obstructing an officer and operating a motor vehicle while his license was revoked, in connection with an incident that occurred Nov. 23. A felony bail jumping count was dismissed but read into the record. Judge Michael T. Judge sentenced him to 31 days already served in the county jail and levied fines and costs totaling $1,132.50.

Rachel L. Micoley, 53, Oconto, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of resisting or obstructing an officer, in connection with an incident that occurred May 13. The charge was amended from a felony in a plea agreement. Conley imposed but stayed a nine-month county jail sentence and placed her on a year of probation.

Proceedings of June 8

Bond was set at $25,000 cash for Nathan R. Neldner, 29, Oconto Falls, after he was charged with felony bail jumping and misdemeanor receiving or concealing stolen property, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred June 4. Neldner was already awaiting trial on charges of burglary, eight counts of theft and bail jumping, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Sept. 27. His initial appearance on the new charges was adjourned until June 16.

Proceedings of June 6

Mark A. Martin, 54, Gillett, pleaded no contest to homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and a misdemeanor count of obstructing an officer, in connection with the Oct. 3 crash that claimed the life of Christopher Wayne Matchopatow, 54, of Keshena. Judge revoked Martin’s bond and ordered him placed in custody, scheduled sentencing for Sept. 13 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Damian Lee Murphy, 20, Abrams, pleaded no contest to homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and two counts of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, in the Aug. 14, 2019, crash that killed Albert W. Reppert, 71, of Midlothian, Illinois. Judge accepted a deferred prosecution agreement and suspended the felony case for two years. On the reckless driving charge, Judge sentenced Murphy to one year in the county jail with good time and work-release privileges. On the other misdemeanor charges, Judge placed Murphy on two years’ probation with conditions that include maintaining absolute sobriety and 80 hours of community service. The felony charge may be expunged from his record if he successfully completes the terms of his sentence.

Stephan Laurants Gengler, 34, formerly of Wrightstown, was sentenced to three years in prison, followed by six years of extended supervision, for possession with intent to deliver amphetamine, and fleeing an officer and causing great bodily harm, in connection with an incident that occurred July 13. The prison term is concurrent with a sentence he is already serving at Redgranite Correctional Institution. Among other conditions of Gengler’s extended supervision, Judge ordered that he maintain absolute sobriety, complete an alcohol and other drug abuse assessment and follow through on recommendations, and not operate a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and approval from his corrections agent.

Mitchell Anthony Kohel, 34, Whitelaw, pleaded no contest to causing injury by operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (second offense), in connection with an incident that occurred Oct. 25. Conley scheduled sentencing for July 26 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Casey Douglas Frank, 28, Pulaski, pleaded no contest to possession of child pornography, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred June 1, 2021. Six other counts were dismissed but read into the record. Judge scheduled sentencing for Aug. 29 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

An Aug. 16 jury trial was scheduled for Paul M. Fletcher, 42, Green Bay, on charges of first-degree reckless endangerment, burglary while armed with a dangerous weapon, false imprisonment, and misdemeanor counts of operating a firearm while intoxicated and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred March 12. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for Aug. 1.
