Proceedings of Oct. 11

Tami Graves, 33, Suring, pleaded no contest to knowingly trafficking in food stamps, in connection with an incident that occurred April 1, 2019. Judge Michael T. Judge scheduled sentencing for Dec. 13 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Proceedings of Oct. 8

After a preliminary hearing, Justin M. Farrell, 35, Kingston, Illinois, was bound over to circuit court on charges of fleeing an officer and misdemeanor failure to stop, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred May 29. Arraignment was scheduled for Nov. 11.
Proceedings of Oct. 7

Brianna Rose Balfantz, 20, pleaded no contest to felony bail jumping, in connection with an incident that occurred May 26, and misdemeanor theft from a Feb. 17 incident. Judge Jay N. Conley scheduled sentencing for Dec. 17 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Proceedings of Oct. 6

Tracey Lee Bartlett, 60, Oconto, was sentenced to six years in prison, followed by 10 years of extended supervision, for two counts of possession of child pornography, in connection with an incident that occurred Jan. 27, 2020. A number of other charges were dismissed but read into the record. Judge Jay N. Conley ordered that Bartlett complete and follow through with an alcohol and other drug abuse assessment, a psychological examination and sex offender treatment. He must comply with the sex offender registry, and during extended supervision he must maintain absolute sobriety and may have no contact with minors and may not connect to the internet without approval of his Department of Corrections agent.

A bench warrant was issued for Casey James Kelly, 34, Pound, after he failed to appear for a plea hearing on charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, strangulation-suffocation, aggravated battery and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred March 20.

A March 1 jury trial was scheduled for Martin Cooper, 51, Mountain, on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (10th or more offense) and misdemeanor operating while his license was revoked, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Dec. 7, 2020. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for Feb. 15.

Cheryl Lynn Jenkins, 50, Gillett, was sentenced to 18 months in prison, followed by two years of extended supervision, for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fifth offense), in connection with an incident that occurred April 11. Judge Michael T. Judge gave Jenkins credit for 101 days already served in the county jail and declared her eligible for the Substance Abuse Program, which can lead to early release upon successful completion. Her driver’s license is revoked for three years, and ignition interlock devices must be installed on any vehicles she owns. During extended supervision, she must maintain absolute sobriety and follow through with an alcohol assessment.

Dylan D. Walk, 29, Menominee, Michigan, formerly of Abrams, pleaded no contest to a felony charge of strangulation and suffocation, as well as misdemeanor animal mistreatment, in connection with an incident that occurred Dec. 5, 2019. Several related charges were dismissed in a plea agreement. Judge Michael T. Judge ordered sentencing for Dec. 2 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

A jury trial was rescheduled to Nov. 3-5 for Joshua L. Dickinson, 44, Portage, on a charge of repeated sexual assault of the same child, in connection with incidents alleged to have occurred in 2015. Judge Michael T. Judge ruled that any motions are due Oct. 15, and the final pre-trial conference was rescheduled for Oct. 18.

Sapphire M. Otradovec, 19, Gillett, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to circuit court on charges of child abuse intentionally causing harm and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 16. Arraignment was scheduled for Oct. 14.

Proceedings of Oct. 5

Michael J. Baye, 61, Oconto, was sentenced to two years in prison, followed by two years of extended supervision, for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fifth or sixth offense) and battery or threat to a law officer, in connection with an incident that took place May 19, 2020. Judge Michael T. Judge ordered that during extended supervision, Baye must maintain absolute sobriety and complete all assessments, counseling and treatment deemed necessary by his Department of Corrections agent. His driver’s license is revoked for 36 months, during which time ignition interlock devices must be installed on all vehicles he owns.

Bradley D. Schulte, 27, Oconto, was placed on two years of probation after a prison sentence was imposed and stayed for possession of methamphetamine, in connection with an incident that occurred Nov. 8. Judge Michael T. Judge ruled that during probation, Schulte must maintain absolute sobriety and full-time employment or school, and he must complete all assessments, treatment and counseling deemed necessary by his Department of Corrections agent.

Fred Benjamin Larsen, 31, Marion, pleaded no contest to theft in a business setting, in connection with an incident that occurred Sept. 30, 2019. A second count was dismissed but read into the record in a plea agreement. Judge Jay N. Conley scheduled sentencing and a restitution hearing for Dec. 17 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Jessi Daye Wynn Rockman, 40, Keshena, pleaded no contest to possession of methamphetamine and guilty to misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that occurred May 6. Judge Michael T. Judge scheduled sentencing for Nov. 17 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Proceedings of Oct. 4

Bond was set at $6,000 cash for William J. Neering, 46, Oconto, after he was charged with two counts of bail jumping, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Sept. 25. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 21. Meanwhile, the parties discussed whether to postpone an Oct. 19-20 jury on charges of strangulation-suffocation and misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Nov. 27, 2020, and bail jumping in an alleged Jan. 13 incident. A motion to adjourn the trial was filed Oct. 7.

Jared Ronald Barber, 27, Lena, pleaded no contest to strangulation-suffocation in connection with an incident that occurred Jan. 24, 2020. Several other charges were dismissed in a plea agreement. Judge Jay N. Conley scheduled sentencing for Dec. 17 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Koltin Winchester Grzybowski, 20, Coleman, pleaded not guilty to charges of injury by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, injury by use of a vehicle with a prohibited alcohol content and second-degree reckless endangerment, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred May 15. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Nov. 15.
